Known for his colorful hair dye, Song also possesses a French passport. Song was born in Douala, Cameroon and lost his father at the age of three. He made his debut that day, coming on in the 78th minute in a goalless draw, substituting for his teammate Kevin Grosskreutz Dortmund and Becoming the youngest since German international Uwe Seeler. Götze and André Schurrle who came on simultaneously are Germany the first two players to be born in reunified Germany.
